Continuing the series that will challenge our way of thinking about God, Damian tackles the subject of the Trinity. Once we understand the triune nature of Father, Son and Spirit, we can start to appreciate what an awesome God we have!
Kicking off a new series entitled Great Big God, Damian whets our appetites by sharing how awesome our God is. Do we limit God by making him too small? After this sermon, we may need to change our perspective. For those who want to see the amazing Louie Giglio video used in the sermon it can be found at https://youtu.be/tO3UQOGM51Y
Guest speaker Dave Newton preaches from Colossians 3: 12-17 where the Apostle Paul exhorts Christians with this simple message: Whatever we do, we are called to represent Jesus and to be always thankful.
Jesus asked his disciples “Who do you say I am?” Preaching from that scripture in Matthew 16: 13-20 Simon Foster poses two further questions – “Who do you say Jesus is?” but something that we also need to get to grips with is “Who does Jesus say YOU are?”
In the final session of this fantastic conference, Simon takes time to get some testimonies from delegates and also to answer some questions from the floor. This is topped off with him exploring Kingdom principles from Matthew 28: 16-20 and unpacking what Jesus meant when he gave the disciples (and that includes us!) all authority to do things in His name.
A powerful session in which Simon explains that the Holy Spirit does a vital work – dwelling within us and assisting how God intersects with our lives. It is where God reveals our true identity and where we will find our real value and worth.
In this second session, Simon discusses our relationship with God. He states that when we know who Jesus is, we will know who we are and broaches big questions for us to ponder: What does intimacy with God in our prayer life look like? Do we listen and hear God’s voice? Do we live have an orphan mindset or live in the Father’s love?
In this opening session of the Practising the Presence conference, Simon Foster focusses on worship. He reminds us that we should not fool ourselves into trying to be someone else; we are unique and God loves us as we are. It is important that we accept this and worship our loving Heavenly Father from our very core.
What does it mean to be a sent people? Do you want peace and prosperity in your town? Preaching from Jeremiah 29: 1-14 Damian explains that God wants us to be a visible presence and make an impact where we live.
